The basic military requirements for tactical equipment are generally quite pragmatic. The item must be robust, durable and as soldier-proof as possible (i.e. easy to use). The majority of the products we offer here are personal equipment and are worn directly on the man/woman, i.e. parameters such as weight, size and attachment options also come into play. In principle, the requirements are similar to those for mountain sports, hiking or camping, for example - which is why it is not only soldiers who buy their military equipment from us.
The biggest difference between civilian and professional military equipment and clothing, apart from the colour, is usually in the materials used and their processing. With rucksacks, bags, holsters etc., the focus is less on the most attractive design with great colours and more on practicality and the highest possible durability under the most difficult conditions - in black, olive green or with camouflage patterns in multicam / multicam black. Of course, higher quality also means a higher price - but the right equipment allows you to master all situations better.
As the name suggests, magazine pouches are used by the military for the secure storage of rifle or pistol magazines on belts, plate carriers or combat waistcoats. A basic distinction is made between open and closed mag pouches. This means that some have a flap or other retention mechanism on the top of the pouch that prevents the magazine from falling out. Other open-top versions, on the other hand, have elasticated elements on the side that only hold the magazine in place by applying pressure, allowing it to be drawn more quickly. It is usually attached using MOLLE or belt loops, or in other cases with screws directly on the holster or on a leg plate.
With holsters, we differentiate between versions that are worn on the hip or on the thigh. The advantage of a belt holster is that the pistol can be carried closer to the body and therefore does not get in the way when walking or sitting in a vehicle. This variant is mainly used by the police and other authorities, where most of the equipment is carried directly on the belt. This is often not possible in the military, as soldiers wear either waistcoats or plate carriers on their upper body and therefore have no access or only little space on their hips. In this case, deep-draw holsters are used, which are attached to the thigh using a height and width-adjustable leg plate. This means that waistcoats, gloves and belts are no problem.
Most holsters are made from polymer or other plastics specifically for the respective weapon model. This allows the holster to be precisely adapted to all the contours of the pistol to ensure the most secure hold possible. Depending on the manufacturer, different types of safety devices are also installed, which are primarily intended to prevent unauthorised access. These mechanisms are categorised into different levels:
If different pistols from different manufacturers are used, so-called universal holsters can be used, which can be individually adjusted to the respective system. In order to be as flexible as possible, these models are usually made of nylon or similar textiles.
