Helikon-Tex was founded in 1983 as a trading company for second-hand military textiles (military surplus). Over the years, however, it became increasingly clear that many items of equipment were no longer up to date and could no longer meet the new needs of the military and private users. Helikon-Tex therefore decided to focus on its own development and production from 1999 onwards. A lot has happened at Helikon since then.
After the first independently developed prototypes for clothing and the switch from surplus trade to in-house production, Helikon-Tex's development department gave the starting signal for the company's steep rise with the launch of the SFU uniform in 2004:
Compared to many of its competitors, Helikon-Tex often goes its own way and sometimes develops completely new products that have never been on the market before. These often incorporate the wishes and requirements of the company's many co-operation partners, who regularly provide feedback and suggestions for improvement. In this way, existing and successful products are constantly developed and improved.
Another concept is to take inspiration from old, traditional items of equipment that have a loyal fan base in many areas, including the military, but are simply no longer up to date. These classics are then optimised in terms of design and redesigned with modern materials - in some cases combining decades of field suitability with contemporary manufacturing techniques.
Helikon-Tex from Poland has been developing and producing innovative and sophisticated equipment and clothing for users in all areas of outdoor life since 1999, be it for the military, police, security, shooting sports, hiking or bushcraft. Feedback from the respective users is always obtained and implemented in order to get the absolute maximum out of new products. The materials used and the design are always optimised for the intended use and are sometimes even specially developed by the manufacturer. This means that every item is perfectly thought out, from jacket to rucksack - and at an affordable price.
The range is now very broad and offers equipment and clothing not only for the shooting range. Functional trousers (such as the popular Urban Tactical Pants), warm fleece and softshell jackets, windblockers, ponchos, caps, gun pouches, shirts, shirts, belts, rucksacks, bags, equipment and pouches for bushcraft,... the list is long! All products are now also available in a wide range of colours. Helikon has a good nose for clothing in particular and is constantly bringing new colours onto the market. Colours such as woodland, multicam, olive green, navy, desert night camo, taiga green, alpha green, khaki, coyote, adaptive green, tiger stripe, pencott, ... the choice is not easy here.
Helikon backpacks are also a good choice. The company has already created some classics here. With the specially developed ‘Versatile Insert System’ from Helikon Tex, backpacks and bags can also be easily customised. Different modules are attached with Velcro, so you have a concealed holster, a separate inner pocket or loops for attaching equipment in the bag. This means you have the right backpack for every requirement and can modify it for the next use before carrying it.
Helikon brand products are now not only well-known in the tactical field, but also enjoy great popularity outside of it. If you cannot find the product you are looking for in our Helikon Tex shop, please contact our customer service team! We will be happy to help you.
